Alistar Promeus has spent most of his early years tinkering with electronics. He carefully maintained and augmented his robotic attendants he affectionately referred to as Familybots 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. These had been assigned to him to monitor his development while his real life parents were busy at work furthering the advancement of bionics and cybernetic augmentations at Hephaestidyne.
Alistar knew very little of his biological parents, bet eventually his prowess with his assigned surrogate caretakers had caught the eye of the Director of Research. As a result, at age 9, Alistar began shadowing and assimilating information from his fellow researchers as well as being attached with a state of the art neural interface device, affectionately named Akashic Archive, meant to add libraries of information into easily accessible memory interfaces. Akashic Archive is powered by piezoelectric generators that have been placed into various muscle tissues and joints, and functions by decoding spools of DNA stored in it and converting these into audio and visual memories. With his new wealth of knowledge and his fertile imagination and inventive spirit, Alistar found himself being moved into the Augmentation, Robotics, and Exosuit Systems division also known as ARES where he proceeded to work on a slew of clandestine technologies. This is where he spent the next eighteen years developing black technology. He has many fond memories crapped in the sterilized, lifeless, white rooms of the ARES facility surrounded by parts and prototypes of dozens of specialized machinery and walls of computers each devoted to individual projects for Alistar to toil on at his leisure.
As would be expected of a highly reclusive and highly educated individual working on covert secretive military projects, Alistar was not a very social individual. He had little time to work on human interaction aside from brief conversations with co-workers. As a result of this, Alistars projects took on a life of their own in his eyes and were given names and personalities by him. Some of his favorite companions are:
Cthulu, a cloak and mask composed of light sensors, reflectors, light emiting pixels, color changing nano-structures, and semiconductors capable of being laser cooled to match ambient infrared radation. Contains a mask with thermal and nightvision optic interfaces and systems that take the ideology of the self-sustained arcologies and streamlined it into a personal version. Mana has personal algae farms that convert waste carbon and water back into breathable oxygen, and clean water. The algae itself can be used as sustenance for emergency situations if rationed appropriately. Mana is a very caring and compassionate individual.

One fateful day whilst amid research, a band of armed pirates overran the small platoon of military escorts for ARES. The breached the facility and started massacring the occupants for their prized developments. After hearing the bloodcurdling sounds of death and gunfire, Alistar donned his companions and set out for retribution.
Cthulu kept him hidden from sight as he prowled the once clean hallways now littered with scenes of carnage, Mana and Irei kept him safe when he deployed the anti-crowd knockout gas. Schrodinger quietly and systematically helped him find his targets. Vera helped him channeled all his rage into small metal ball bearings accelerated at supersonic velocities into the skulls of his prey. Finally, Horus helped him fly around the pirate armada and pick off the remaining stragglers.
Once the his retribution had been vindicated, familybots 1-5 helped him clean up ARES. Now alone with his robotic friends and family he drifted in ARES, as his sanctuary and as his reminder of the cruelty of the outside world, from place to place fulfilling odd jobs as they came up.
Personality: Alistar is a reclusive shut in with minimal interpersonal skills. He is highly intelligent and can come off as a bit egotistical because of this. He has a slightly skewed ethical compass that allows him the ability to kill without much remorse but only in the name of the greater good and protection of knowledge. He is very strong willed and living in solitude for the better part of five years has strengthened his independent personalty and self sustenance. Him and Vera also have a special passion for lobotomizing pirates.
Character Traits: Alistar is very intelligent and prefers to keep company with similiar people. He can be a bit stubborn and obstinate. He is loyal to any friends he makes but isn't outgoingly social. When given a problem Alistar puts 120% of his energy into solving it and often gets distracted solving problems or tinkering with machinery. In the field he finds himself fixing equipment, as a merchant, or when hired as a he is independent and prefers stealth, subterfuge, and long range engagements.
Skills: Highly skilled at using computers and electronics. Also very capable at repairs and improvements to most things. Very self sufficient and capabable of survival on his own. Not great at interacting with others, especially with people who are of significantly lesser intelligence.

The high capacity high discharge energy cells are capable of close to 100 shots before needing to be recharge or replaced. Vera can generate excessive heat if used repeatedly without giving the superconductors a couple seconds to cool down.
Schrodinger: quantum imaging device. Capable of seeing through material due to entanglement. Resolution of images is mediocre.
Mana: self sustained life support system. Capable of recycling carbon waste, and water waste into resuable material. Is only able to provided nutrition for a short controlled period of time due to consumption of the system critical algae that must be regulated with growth rate.
Irei: Exosuit that provides 3 fold increase to physical attributes. Is capable of extended use but heavy loads and extended use can cause wear to the servos that require fairly constant maintenance.
Horus: Lightweight and low noise propulsion system. Capable of fast travel and long distances. Only able to carry a small payload and one occupant. No real armor or protection provided to occupant as focus is on operational length, low weight, and speed.

“Come Vera, its play time.” He murmurs as he slids his metallic mask on and reaches for his rifle.
“Cthulu ready for some hide and seek?” He snickers as he pulls a dull grey cloak over his shoulders that suddenly flickers to life camouflaging all except his face as he grins wickedly.
